Second Grade gives a HOOT!

Owls.  They are an "in thing" now.  The second graders had a lot of fun with this project.
Directions:
Kids draw an owl on a branch with a pencil.
Kids outline the owls.
Some kids chose to paint the branch.
Some kids chose to use a crayon.
Kids painted their background and the owls.

Problem with this Project?
These owls are wide awake.
They are nocturnal.
We should have used a darker shade of blue or black.
I did mention this to the kids.
It was just one of those things that happened and I thought maybe we could learn from our mistakes.
It is art though.
The BLUE sky's the LIMIT!
Here's a cool, OLD video with Nat King Cole and Patti Page.  The video starts of with Cole singing "Blue Skies".  There are other performers and songs.  The end of the video made me wanna go, "Hoot-Hoot!"
