Organic Shapes, Watercolor, and Ink=WHAM BAM ART!

This was a great project to make my 8th grade art students feel successful during the first week of school.  Also, the project gave them practice using various mediums.  Patience was also required in completing the project due to the drying of the glue, paint, and ink.

Directions:

Use a T-square to block off an inch around all 4 sides of the paper. (hey, kids love a T-square)
Draw some organic shapes on the paper with pencil.
Outline the organic shapes with black Elmer's glue. (add black paint to the white glue)
Paint the shapes and other parts of the paper with watercolor.
Roll the piece of art lightly with ink.

Wham, Bam, ART!

Ever heard of Cupid's Wham Dance?
Well, you have now.
Try this out with your kids.
They will love it.
Great way to "wham out" the wiggles after working hard in the art room!
