Japanese Fish Kites

Here is a quick and easy lesson on Japanese Fish Kites. I ordered the kite kits from Sax Arts and Crafts. You can view kit here in this link. Do you know anything about the history of the Japanese Kite? If not, check this out - this is what I found in my research...lots of resources on the web!

Carp Kites in Japan
In Japan, carp kites are flown during a festival called Children's Day. The Japanese draw carp on their kites because they believe carp are symbols of strength and perseverance since they swim vigorously upstream against strong currents. The Japanese hope that their children will inherit these characteristics.
