andy warhol and jimmy carter and picasa and POP ART!

by karen #1965 third grade teacher well i do love me some andy warhol art...but some of the andy stuff bothers me...like...i just am not real into "mass production" art...but then i think...hey, it is an andy thing...who am i to judge?...so moving myself off that thot...you see, there is a website known as picasa that really helped me with this andy project...i took pictures of my kids...talked about andy...you want to show some of his art?..Andy prints...Preview...You never know about Andy!....and i uploaded the photos that i took of the kids to my computer...and used picasa to make 4 kids per page...if you are easy with computers...picasa is very easy...if not, just forget picasa...the project turned out very much like andy did some of his work...lookie....lookie...
also..i came across this cool booklet thing AFTER i did this project...it would have been a great thing to look at before the project...but sometimes you find stuff too late...Cool Booklet All About Andy!

so...why this post...well i might get to see an andy warhol work of art in the next few days...it looks like something like this...
did you know that in 1977, the u.s. government actually commissioned andy warhol to do a portrait of jimmy carter?....here it is...
here is andy giving jimmy his portrait...bet andy is no diggin' that tie!
well at the beginning of this post, i talked about how andy "mass produced" art...hey...now they are "mass producing" andy....LOL!...check this website out...Andy, mass produced...

jimmy carter...i like him...i am from the peach state, georgia, and i like him...his presidency had some problems...but he really does a lot of good on planet earth...like an old sunday school teacher of mine once said, "bad things happen to good folks."....we gotta keep truckin' like the grateful dead said in 1971...

Truckin', I'm a goin' home,
Whoa whoa baby, back where I belong,
Back home, sit down and patch my bones, and get back truckin' on...

april 10, 2010!
