purge and plunge

by karen #1965 3rd grade teacher well...i was attacked by a virus.i love teaching.i love my third graders, but the bugs they let fly in...not so much...so i spent many hours last week with my dear porcelain friend, the potty.it is there where this post came to mind.so how about these plungers?u like?well, i did this activity with kids at church camp a few years back.plungers are funny.they weren't real cheap either.now the one with the black rubber, it was kinda pricey.the one with the red rubbber, not so much.on the black plunger, there is concrete cement patch that has been decorated with stuff...stuff i found when walking.stuff like barbie shoes that i found when cleaning up the toy room...you just put concrete patch on a little at the time...that is the secret.then, place your items on the concrete patch.some of you are saying what is concrete patch?(well some of you may be saying that...if no one is saying that, well i am wrong)....well i get my concrete patch in a plastic tub from ace hardware.(what ever happened to the western auto?i am in a play, which is one reason why i have been irregular posting and one one of my lines is this..."rusty called me from his car, right after he had seen derek at the western auto)...it is premixed and in a white bucket and has red and black writing on it.there are 2 sizes.you can get the big one and pay more or you can get the small one and pay less.if you pay less, you can go to starbucks and get a mocha venti.now some of you are thinking...well i can just get those big, old bags of concrete and mix it myself...go ahead...but, not me...i did that teaching Bible school once and i got dust up my nose and ruined my precious cell phone with the water)...the mix it yourself stuff...not me...some things are meant to be done by others...and this is one-the end of the black plunger directions....now for the red plunger, you need to sand if off just a touch to get the shiny off...and then paint with acrylic...i like to put an eye hook at the top and wire up some beads to hang down................there you have it.directions for 2 decorative plungers....warning.plungers are very interesting to kids.they stick to everything.kids will run around the room sticking them on ceilings.everywhere.on one occasion, a kid decided to stick the thing on his forehead (this may have been at an art camp me and sis did)..anyway, it stuck to his forehead, but when he finally pulled it off...the was a red mark on his face that looked like a giant passion mark or hickie...oh yeah...try explaining that to mom when she picks him up.......anyway, everyone spends time in the bathroom...paint it up....and then when it stops up, plunge it with color and creativity!i wanna rock and roll all night(1975-kiss)...but not by the toilet bow!happy february 9, 2010!

  1. When I was a kid...my sister stuck a suctioning thingie(toy somethin') to my head. Then she tried to pull it off..which took a bit...which also created a big hicky on my forehead. It was there for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!
